Kent Auditor of Emilio Aguinaldo College has been named the NCAA 100 aspirants basketball Most Valuable Player.
The court general from Maramag, Bukidnon towed the Brigadiers to their historic first-ever title in the 15-under tournament after crashing San Beda University in the finals, 102-73, on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
“Hindi ko talaga inexpect na mag-MVP ako dito. Talagang nagsipag lang akong magdepensa. Sabi ni coach sa akin, wag lang ako makapampante sa kalaban tsaka di mainit yung ulo dito sa court,” Auditor told GMA Regional TV News during the post awarding interviews.
Along with Xyriel Macahipay, James Castro, and the rest of the crew, the Brigadiers went undefeated in the elimination round to top the standings, 9-0, before heading to the final four.
With coach Ariel Sison at the helm, EAC gave Benilde-La Salle Green Hills an 83-50 demolition in the semis and set up a date in the finals with San Beda.
“Every game namin talagang hirap, pagod, seryoso lahat ng ginagawa namin. Alam ng mga batang ito kung anong pinaghirapan namin, since binuo namin ito noong August,” Coach of the Year awardee, Ariel Sison, said.
“Halos nag-sacrifice ang mga yan, di umuwi sa mga family nila. We really deserve this victory kasi alam ng mga bata kung anong sacrifice ginawa nila,” he added.
EAC management committee representative, Dr. Lorenzo Lorenzo, was elated to lift the trophy after not being able to join in 2024.
“Talagang napakasaya namin, di mapaliwanag ang emotions. We really took this 15-under basketball program seriously, we recruited good players kasi nga we believe na mahalaga din yung grassroots recruitment tsaka developmental approach sa basketball,” he said.
Meanwhile, last season’s title holders, Arellano Braves, settled for a bronze finish this year after being defeated by San Beda in the semi finals and winning over Benilde-LSGH in the battle for third, 76-65.
