The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has canceled basketball games scheduled on November 11, 2025 due to the effects of Super Typhoon #UwanPH.

In an official announcement on November 9, the NCAA said it based its decision on an announcement from Malacañang that classes and work are suspended in the National Capital Region on November 10 and 11 due the effects of Super Typhoon Uwan.

The NCAA said it prioritizes "the safety of student-athletes, spectators, and all stakeholders."

"In view of the announcement from Malacañang Palace regarding the suspension of classes and work in the National Capital Region on November 10-11, 2025 due to the threat of Super Typhoon #UwanPH, the NCAA prioritizes the safety of student-athletes, spectators, and all stakeholders," the league said.

"Accordingly, all scheduled NCAA Basketball games on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Mall of Asia Arena are hereby canceled," it added.

It will announce a revised schedule of games once conditions permit.

SUPER TYPHOON

Uwan made landfall over Dinalungan, Aurora at 9:10 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, and brought with it destructive winds, intense rains, and dangerous sea conditions across much of Luzon.

At 10 p.m., the typhoon’s eye was located in the vicinity of Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

It carried maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gusts of up to 230 km/h, while moving northwest at 30 km/h.

Typhoon-force winds extend up to 900 kilometers from its center.

PAGASA said Uwan will continue crossing Northern Luzon overnight before emerging over Lingayen Gulf or the coast of La Union or Ilocos Sur by Monday morning.
