Despite the natural disasters that struck Cebu in the last quarter of 2025, these have not dampened the spirit of members of the Philippine Accessible Disability Services (PADS) Adaptive Dragon Boat Racing team to clinch medals in Malaysia.

The team won medals in the Penang International Dragon Boat Festival 2025.

Of 54 international teams from 10 countries, the Cebu-based dragon boat team showed their mettle and prowess in the global competition by clinching a gold medal in the Premier Open Tug of War, silver in the 400-meter U24 Premier Open and 400-meter Senior A Premier Open; and bronze in the 250-meter U24 Premier Open and 250-meter Senior A Premier Open.

The team hopes that their victory has spread good cheer, hope, and inspiration to victims of calamities, as well as to persons with disabilities (PWD), or the differently abled, who marked the International Day of PWDs on December 3, 2025 with various activities.
