The National Collegiate Athletic Association is set to begin the new year with the Season 101 Volleyball Tournament scheduled to kick off on January 23, 2025 at the San Andres Sports Complex.
Reigning women’s volleyball champs Benilde Lady Blazers will open their title defense bid against the Mapua Lady Cardinals, while the Season 100 finalists Letran Lady Knights will slug it out against the Arellano Lady Chiefs.
The five-peat-seeking Lady Blazers headline the newest season of NCAA volleyball as they look to continue their unparalleled dominance in the women’s division since 2021.
In a highly impressive finals showing, the Lady Blazers obliterated its gold medal match foe in the Lady Knights via sweep, only losing a single set across two wins.
Bolstering the Lady Blazers’ fifth consecutive title bid is Bacolod Tay Tung High School standout Cam Bartolome, a two-time Palarong Pambansa gold medalist from Pavia, Iloilo.
Defending the men’s volleyball title are the Arellano Chiefs, who made history in Season 100 when they won their first-ever men’s volleyball championship since joining the Grand Old League in 2009.
The Chiefs, led by Finals MVP Carl Berdal, swept the Letran Knights en route to the NCAA 100 title.
Meanwhile, the NCAA Volleyball Fiesta– which features the boys’ and girls’ divisions– is scheduled to commence on January 19.
