Arellano University is still the golden standard in NCAA cheerleading.

The AU Chiefsquad remains undefeated in seven years after seizing the NCAA Season 101 Cheerleading Competition title on Thursday, March 12, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

It topped the 10-team list with a total score of 231.

The UPHSD Altas Perpsquad came in second with 221 points, while the Letran Cheering Squad captured the bronze medal after finishing with 199.5.

The red, gray, and blue colors of AU won its first ever title in Season 90, but has been on top of the competition since Season 92 way back in 2017, kicking off a legendary streak that has gone uncontested to this day.

The Season 101 title is Arellano’s eighth overall.

Legendary coach Lucky San Juan said the championship run is dedicated to his student-athletes and all their families, as well as the entire Arellano community.

“Sa mga player ko of course– sila kasi yung naghihirap, always silang naghihirap. Of course sa management namin, sa committee namin, sa lahat ng naniniwala sa amin. Sa family ng mga bata, sa family ko na laging nakakaintindi sa amin,” San Juan told GMA Regional TV News.

The judge pool for the Season 101 tournament was composed of long-time Singapore national cheerleading team member Samantha Chew (International Cheer Union Certified International Judge Level 2); Southeast Bangkok University Cheerleading and Dance Team head coach Dr. Phuwakorn Anantarak (Cheer Association of Thailand Committee Judge); Philippine Cheer Union Secretary General and NCAA 101 Cheerleading Commissioner Ariel Ayeng Paitone (ICU Accredited Judge Level 1 and 2); long-time Taiwan national cheerleading team member Yu Ting Lin (ICU Certified International Judge Level 1 and 2); Asia Cheer Union and Cheerleading Association of Singapore Honorary President Damien Ng (ICU World Championships judge); and Head and Technical judge Yun Shu Wang (ICU Certified International Judge Level 1 and 2).
