Assistant coach Sandro Soriano of the Ateneo Blue Eagles appeared before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday, June 18 amid ongoing investigations central to the fatal drowning of Ateneo athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili during a team activity in Aurora.

Based on a report by Christian Maño on Super Radyo dzBB, Soriano headed to the NBI Homicide Division accompanied by his lawyer, Atty. Raymond Roxas.

The Ateneo mentor, however, reportedly declined to make any comment in front of the media about the case nor his statement.

Soriano, alongside resigned head coach Tab Baldwin, are currently under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Board (ILBO), which means any attempt to leave the country will alert authorities.

In the past days, several teammates of Baterbonia and Adili who were also present during the controversial team building event in Aurora, already gave statements to the NBI, while embattled former Ateneo coach Baldwin is expected to appear before the investigation bureau on June 19.
