Some of the venues that will be used for the fast-approaching Batang Pinoy 2026 underwent inspections from July 1 to 5 as host city Bacolod ramps up its preparation for the national youth games slated to happen this December.

According to the Bacolod City Communications Office - PIO, who shared photos from the five-day ocular inspection on Facebook, the examination of game venues was conducted by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) in coordination with Bacolod City’s Office of the Mayor.

This is part of the groundwork being laid down by the local government of Bacolod City in preparation for the December festivities, which is set to be the City of Smiles’ fourth time hosting the Batang Pinoy games.

Bacolod also served as the host during the tournament's inaugural edition in 1999, as well as in 2001 and 2013.

During the Batang Pinoy 2025, Pasig City was crowned as the overall winner after netting 95 gold medals, trailed closely by Baguio City with a 91 golds. Davao City, Quezon City, and Manila rounded out the last year's top five.

While both are national tournaments for young athletes, Batang Pinoy is different from the Palarong Pambansa in that the former covers athletes between 8 and 15 years old, and is open even to the out-of-school-youth.

The latter meanwhile, has involvces two divisions (elementary and secondary), and caters only to student-athletes or those currently enrolled in school.
