After 11 years, the San Beda University is back in the finals after stunning the second-seed Arellano University in the #NCAASeason98 men's volleyball stepladder semis.
The Red Spikers pulled off a 27-25, 12-25, 25-17, 25-18 victory against the Chiefs to seal their finals berth.
After a slow start in the third set, the Mendiola-based squad came alive with a 9-0 run.
Arellano tried to claw their way back in the fourth set after staging a small rally before San Beda University Head Coach Ariel Dela Cruz reminded his boys to keep their composure.
“Break natin yung momentum… wag kayong mara-rattle, end game na yan,” he said during one of their timeouts.
Arellano struggled to recover and the Red Spikers never looked back as they set a date in the finals with the undefeated University of Perpetual Help System-DALTA.
The first game of the best-of-three finals series will be played in FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan on April 11, 2023.
