While other young individuals nowadays are hooked to gadgets and gizmos, such as smart mobile phones, a 12-year-old Grade 7 student in the Municipality of Minglanilla, Cebu is absorbed in books.
Since Kindergarten to Grade 6, Isabella Ramones Geraldizo, or Isa, was placed under home schooling.
Daddy Rendon and Mommy Percy are the epitome of “hands-on parents.”
Daddy Rendon and Mommy Percy would read books with Isa a number of hours each day. So, it is no surprise that at a tender age, Isa has developed a strong habit of reading books. In fact, she considers herself a bibliophile, or one who has a great love of books – in various genres.
Of all book genres, Isa said that fantasy and mythology books are her favorite stuff.
As Mommy Percy and Daddy Rendon want to support her deep interest in books, she was introduced to a book writers club.
On July 27, 2025, Isa led the formal launching of her first book – a fantasy book – titled “Classmania: Dragon War.”
According to Isa, the book tackles the story of Felix, the 17-year-old Prince of Migtonia, and Stella, the 16-year-old Queen’s Apprentice. The two were spending a regular day in Isaleigh when the notorious Crown of Markel, a cursed relic of the past, gets stolen right under the Leaders’ noses.
"The powerful dragons, known as the Abominations, including Umbra, the evil spirit, have escaped, wreaking havoc, and are hunting down Felix to take revenge on the nation of Migtonia. In a gripping race for life, Felix, Stella, and their friends must put an end to Umbra and her dragons before they ultimately take over Classmania," the book synopsis reads.
Of 50 copies printed initially, 42 of these have been sold during the book launching.
It took Isa’s parents approximately P50,000 for the printing of her first fantasy book. But with the help of the book writers club, a comfortable payment scheme was arranged.
As of this writing, Mommy Percy and Daddy Rendon mull on a partnership with bookstores where Isa’s book could be displayed.
Isa’s parents have also tried selling the book online to make good use of available technology, and harnessing the potential of e-book publishing.
Mommy Percy said that while it is a challenge, indeed, to sell books today because people are more hooked to their gadgets and that plenty of e-books are available, she and Daddy Rendon make sure that as parents, they will always be there to nurture Isa’s endeavor, believing firmly that young talent deserves the all-out support of no less than their own parents.
