A graduate of West Visayas State University (WVSU) College of Medicine in Iloilo City ranked Number 7 in the October 2025 Physicians Licensure Examination.

Based on the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Judah Elijah Manticahon Cagas scored 89.08 percent.

Aside from Cagas’ feat, WVSU ranked fifth in the roster of Top Performing Schools with a passing rate of 96.91 percent, wherein 94 of its 97 examinees passed the exam.

“Indeed, the West Visayas State University is truly proud, happy, and we feel blessed talaga na we did well in the latest Physician Licensure Exam,” Dr. Celina Gellada, vice president for Medical and Allied Sciences of WVSU, said.

A graduate of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) ranked Number 1 in the board exam. Kharam Molbog from the Province of Nueva Vizcaya in northern Luzon scored 91.17 percent.

Three years ago, Molbog made headlines as the country’s topnotcher in the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination.
