Bicol University-Daraga emerged as the top performing institution at the recently released Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE) results.
With 56 of its 66 aspirants overcoming the October 2025 CPA board exams accountin for an 84.85% passing rate, the Albay-based state university became the top-rating school with at least 50 student takers, as per the official results announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on November 4, Tuesday.
The October 2025 CPALE saw only 3,460 passers out of 10,171 total takers nationwide to register a 34.02% national passing rate– a tad higher than the previous 33.11% tally in the May 2025 exams.
The national passing rate has risen gradually since 2022. During the May 2022 CPALE, only 22.29% passed the exams, before growing to 25.84% in the October 22 edition, and jumping to 31.37% in the October 2023 CPALE.
This is not the first time that Bicol U-Daraga dominated the CPALE results. According to the official school website, the state university also emerged as the back-to-back top performing school during the 2015 and 2016 editions.
