Alexis Temblique, a Cagayan State University-Tuguegarao alumnus and a Department of Health (DOH) scholar, led the list of top examinees in the March 2026 Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE).

Though listed in second place, Alexis’ 90.58% exam rating effectively topped the results published by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), with the overall topnotcher left unnamed (‘Name Withheld’) in the official release.

Also a licensed physical therapist, Alexis is in fact a two-time topnotcher, having solo-topped the Physical Therapists Licensure Examination (PTLE) in August of 2019. He completed his undergraduate degree in PT at the Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) in Valenzuela.

In a public Facebook post, an appreciative Temblique attributed the accomplishment to the educational opportunities afforded to his dream of becoming a doctor.

“To Cagayan State University, DOH, and our taxpayers, thank you for giving me an opportunity to become a DOH scholar and to become the doctor I always wanted to be," he wrote.

Alexis also emphasized his desire to enter the Doctor to the Barrio (DTTB) program– a DOH initiative that aims to address the lack of doctors in rural communities by incentivizing the deployment of physicians to these underserved areas.

Twelve in the 14 listed topnotchers are representing schools based in the regions.
