From perfectly preppy to sleek and corporate, “My Lady Boss” actors Ruru Madrid, Jace Flores, Sef Cadayona and Dion Ignacio transformed in front of the camera. Giving their best shot for their GMANetwork.com pictorial last June 6, the dashing bunch also gave their take on romance in the workplace.

Kapuso teen actor Ruru Madrid, who plays the younger brother of Evelyn (Marian Rivera) in “My Lady Boss”, described his character as “basagulero, almost kick-out sa school at laging napapagalitan”. He quipped that he is somewhat “maloko” as Elvin when he was younger.

Since Ruru is a bit more mature now, we asked him what he thought about office romance. He replied, “Well, for me, okay ‘yun kasi talagang nangyayari naman ‘yan, even naman dito sa GMA, ‘di ba? Kaya rin siguro naisip ng writers at director na gawin ito sa pelikula para talagang mas maging natural at makatotohanan.”

Jace Flores, who plays a Fil-Am employee working under Evelyn’s team in “My Lady Boss” shared the same sentiment. However, he believes that there should be limitations. He stated, “As long as you’re discreet, you know how to stay professional and it won’t affect your duties as an employee in the company, it should be okay.”

Jace also had a few tips for ladies who want to get noticed by their office crushes. He advised, “Majority of men, ayaw namin ng hard to get. Put up your guard, yes, but don’t make it seem hopeless naman. Give us a little hint, like look at us in a different way than you look at everyone else; but don’t give us everything kasi wala nang challenge.”

For guys who get shy around their office crush, Jace had this to say: “Guys, we always have to initiate the first move. Be confident. You don’t want it to be a should’ve, would’ve, could’ve.

Sef Cadayona, who plays the funny I.T. guy in Evelyn’s team had a different take on office romance. For him, “You have to be really sure about it. If you respect your co-worker, and you respect the place as well, why bother? There are a lot of other beautiful and handsome people outside of work.”

According to Sef, the best way to create sparks in the office or elsewhere, is good research. “If you like someone, you’d find out what makes her laugh and what she likes. Just come up to her and chat her up about the things she loves.”

Dion Ignacio, who plays Evelyn’s dependent older brother, Eugene in the film believes that entering into a relationship is a very crucial decision whether the significant other is an officemate or not. He declared, “Sundin mo lang ang nararamdaman mo.”

For him, the way to anyone’s heart is making the person feel appreciated over the simple things. He explained, “Pakitaan mo lang ng maganda yung type mo. Lagi mo siyang pansinin at bigyan ng compliments. Simple lang dapat, kasi kung masyadong presko, baka hindi kayo magkatuluyan.”
