Janno Gibbs: the Telenovela crooner

In his almost three decades in the entertainment industry, Janno Gibbs has composed a number of remarkable theme songs for television series. He has done enough musical compositions to turn into an album; his latest project titled ‘Novela.’

In his almost three decades in the entertainment industry, Janno Gibbs has composed a number of remarkable theme songs for television series.
He has done enough musical compositions to turn into an album; his latest project titled ‘Novela.’
“I was given the chance by GMA to write for soaps, ‘yung theme songs ng mga drama. So nung nakaka mga two or three na ako, ‘yun I started thinking na pwede, maganda sana i-compile in an album,” the actor-singer-songwriter said in an interview with GMANetwork.com.
Janno first wrote for the Kapuso drama series Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw.
He recalled, “Nung sinabi nila ‘yung story tapos ito ‘yung title, na-inspire ako. I offered. Sabi ko, ‘Can I write for this? Parang inspired ako to write for the title.'
"So I made the song tapos nagustuhan nila, tapos it started from there. Nung nagustuhan nila, nagpagawa na ng [para sa] Kambal Sirena,” he continued.
Aside from Kambal Sirena’s ‘Sa Iyong Mundo,’ also included in his 9-track album are Kapuso programs’ eponymous theme songs like ‘Dading’ and ‘My BFF’, and Ang Dalawang Mrs. Real’s ‘Ikaw, Ako at Siya’.
‘Bangon Kaibigan’, the collaboration of Kapuso stars for the recovery of Yolanda victims, is the first track of his new album. His duet with Jennylyn Mercado titled ‘Never Gonna Let You Go’ and ‘Cheezy Call’ which features Solenn Heussaff are also included in 'Novela.'
Janno is also currently making the music video for his carrier single ‘Lalaki Lang Ako.’
