Alden Richards personally turned over a check from his ‘Upsurge’ concert proceeds to Kapuso Foundation today, July 19.

Following the success of his second major concert, the Pambansang Bae decided to share his blessings with the beneficiaries of GMA’s socio-civic organization. Also present at the turnover were Founder and Ambassador of GMA Kapuso Foundation Mel Tiangco, EVP and COO of GMA Kapuso Foundation Rikki Escudero-Catibog, and GMA Records Managing Director Rene Salta.

“For 20 years po, they’ve been helping a lot of Kapusos who are in need. I want to be part of that also,” he said.

Alden has specifically chosen to contribute in the reconstruction of the bridges in Camarines Sur.

He explained, “Kids are crossing that. Parang tumatawid lang sila sa rope, very delikado 'tsaka ‘yung reason nila for crossing the bridge is to go to school. Important kasi ‘yung studies. It’s also one of my advocacies. Then other than that, sana the donation can help also for GMA Kapuso Foundation to build houses din para sa mga less fortunate nating mga Kapuso out there.”

Alden has always been discreet in accomplishing his social responsibilities. This moment, however, is an exception as he tries to encourage fellow celebrities to also pay their blessings forward.

The Pambansang Bae said, “Mas okay kasi sa akin pag secret, but this time, I want people to see that we’re helping. We’re doing this, we’re giving a part of the ‘Alden: Upsurge’ proceeds to GMA Kapuso Foundation to help. [It’s like] giving attention to the things that needed to be given attention.”

“Napakagandang paraan po ito ng way of giving back doon sa mga blessings na natatanggap natin,” he also added.

Alden’s ‘Upsurge’ concert will be telecast on SNBO this Sunday, July 23.
