These products should be in your kikay kit when you travel

Aside from your clothes, you should also pay special attention to the beauty products you are packing for your trip. After all, your skin and hair are as important as your Instagram posts and OOTDs.

Five beauty investments worth putting your money on

"A traveler should choose handy products and avoid bulky ones when traveling. As much as possible, bring items which can be used under all circumstances and in different weather conditions," says lawyer and entrepreneur Janna Robles-Santos, who also runs the blog Couple Meets World with her husband Nikko.

Travel photographer and blogger Ryazan Duray-Tristram shares that you should consider three things when deciding what to bring. "Other than the basic skin and hair care, I strongly advice to condition, moisturize, and protect. These three steps will surely make your hair and skin very happy."

Here are some products that are recommended staples in your travel kikay kit:

Moisturizer
"Whether you are traveling in a hot or cold destination, getting a good face moisturizer and SPF protection can help slow down the harmful effects of the sun. This can also help to prevent pre-mature wrinkles and other skin blemishes," says Ryazan, who has been living in the United Kingdom for more than 10 years.

She adds, "During the winter months here in Europe, having good skin care is important. The harsh cold weather can easily make your skin dry, wind burnt or frostbite. If the sun comes out during winter months, you can also easily get sunburnt without even noticing it."

Sunblock lotion
Whether for short trips or long vacations, Janna makes sure she brings her sunblock lotion along with other skin care products and makeup.

#PerfectPout: Lipstick shades for every occasion

"I usually bring just a sunscreen lotion, moisturizer, pressed powder, wet tissues, a lip balm and a lipstick for short travels. My husband and I love taking photos and filming videos during travel, and a bright lipstick works wonders in making a girl look fresher in pictures and videos," she shares.

"As I said, I love doing personal photo shoots during my travels, and it doesn't hurt to bring these small items to make myself look better in front of the camera. Of course, whenever I carry my make-up kit, my make-up remover should also be there."

After sun lotion
Ryazan swears by using an after sun lotion when you will be out the entire day.

"We all know that we must use sunscreen lotion to protect our skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun, but after enjoying the sun I also love using the an After Sun Lotion. I had a sore sunburn when we went to Jamaica, after a busy day walking around the market in Ocho Rios. I took a cold shower to cool down from the humid tropical heat and apply my after sun lotion, and it was soothing and cooling down my skin.

Oil control film
Any traveler with oily skin will understand the importance of having an oil control film at hand.

According to Ryazan, "this is another a must for me as the saying goes “oiliness is next to ugliness”. I do get sensitive and oily eyelids because of blepharitis so it is important for me to get the oily skin situation in control most especially if I'm traveling to a hot destination."

Dry shampoo
"Bring a dry shampoo for instances when you can't properly wash your hair because you never know!" says Janna.

Must-have products to maintain a healthy perm

"We usually pick flights that arrive early morning. Check-in time usually starts late in the afternoon, and instead of waiting, we leave our luggage at the reception and go exploring the new place right away. Since I can't use the bathroom of my hotel room until after check-in, I use a dry shampoo to freshen my hair, after a long flight."
