LOOK: Janine Gutierrez's 5 best looks according to makeup artist Anthea Bueno

Kapuso artist Janine Gutierrez is undeniably among this generation's most beautiful actresses. Not only does her face lights up TV and movie screens, but she's also a sought-after cover girl for glamour magazines and muse to fashion designers alike.

GMANetwork.com had an exclusive chat with Janine's go-to makeup artist Anthea Bueno and she lists down her five favorite looks for the actress and how to achieve it. Read on

1. The 20-minute makeup

Getting glam takes an hour or more, but Anthea says that a glowy, no-makeup look can be achieved in 20 minutes. This is the case when she rushed in doing Janine's makeup for a Louis Vuitton event in 2018.

Due to time constraints, Anthea simply used tinted moisturizer as base on Janine, brushed the brows, created a thin wing on the eyelids, put highlights on, and finished it off with subtle nude lip.

"One of my favorites is 'yung Louis Vuitton na look n'ya. It's the fastest makeup look we've ever done. So I just did the base na very fast lang, halos tinted moisturizer pa nga lang yata 'yon, brushed the brows, tapos a long, thin wing liner, and then highlighter in the eyelids, and then a nude lip."

According to Anthea, the whole look was also liked by Janine because it is natural-looking.

"Sinabi nga rin na 'yun 'yung pinaka-favorite [n'ya] kahit na 'yun 'yung pinakamabilis naming ginawa kasi parang sometimes 'yung mga tao, gusto nila 'yung sila pa rin' yung nakikita nila sa salamin. Natural pero may something different about that look."

2. Mix of Western and Korean makeup

Mixing two opposite makeup styles works well for Janine.

For a promo event of the Kapuso actress' movie Elise, Anthea paired Western makeup with a gradient lip to create a Korean makeup look.

The makeup artist shared, "Usually when I do Janine, ang approach ko is medyo Western 'yung type ng makeup. This time, I went for a little mix of Western pero with a mix of Korean na style. I did gradient lip tapos wing liner and glowy skin."

Anthea also shared that a lot of people complimented Janine in that look because it's different from her usual makeup look. "A lot of people complimented her do'n sa look na 'yun kasi I made her brows a little bit of straight than usual. Sobrang natuwa sila kasi parang some people are afraid of wearing gradient lip especially when they have big lips pero bagay naman sa kanya. It made her lips a little less pouty kasi nasa gitna 'yung color. So, she never thought na bagay pala those kinds of look no'ng time na 'yun."

3. Purple smokey eye makeup

Purple eye shadow has been on the back burner for so long but Anthea brought it back to the spotlight. And she did so for Janine Christmas party look. Anthea applied purple smokey eye makeup on the actress and layered it with shimmer and glitter.

According to her, Janine was hesitant at first to try the purple eye shadow because it is too vibrant.

"We were making fun of this look before. Biniro ko lang na ube na eyes. Akala niya dyino-joke ko s'ya tapos no'ng pinapatanong ko na 'yung eyeshadow, sabi n'ya, 'Oh my God, Thea. Purple nga 'yung mata.' Tapos sabi ko, 'Basta gaganda 'yan.'

"What's good about Janine naman kasi she's super game. Sa una lang siya natatakot pero parang she'll trust you with anything. 'Yun kasi 'yung masarap na katrabaho 'yung they trust you enough to pull off crazy looks like this," Anthea said.

4. Zendaya-inspired makeup

Anthea helped Janine channel her inner Zendaya at the recently concluded New York Fashion Week.

The makeup artist used warm yellow eye shadow on the actress' lids, highlighter for glowy skin, and lip gloss for a lip balm feel.

"I super love the yellow eye shadow. Parang she was hesitant to do this pa nga before kasi she thought it's gonna be like the super wild na yellow on the eyelids pero sabi ko sa kanya I'm just gonna put the faintest yellow I can find and it's gonna be a wash lang of color," recalled Anthea.

She added: "Tapos I made sure she looks glowy and then she looks like she does not wear any makeup. Tapos in-emphasize ko lang 'yung eyebrows tapos some people would comment on this photo na she looks like Zendaya kasi laki din ng hair n'ya no'ng day na 'yun. So parang you really enjoyed creating this look. Halos naka-lip balm lang 'yung feel."

5. Iconic pink-winged liner

Another NYFW makeup look that made it to Anthea's list is the iconic pink-winged liner.

She revealed that she collaborated with Janine's stylist MJ Benitez in creating the edgy look. No wonder it was recognized by the American Internet media, BuzzFeed, as one of the best street style looks in the NYFW.

Anthea drew a big wing on Janine's eyelids using a pink matte lipstick to match the actress' Amina Muaddi fuchsia pumps.

The makeup artist said, "Her shoes were actually fuchsia so parang this was one was MJ Benitez's call. He says na can you do pink wing liner, sabi ko, we're in New York naman na let's go bold. Let's do it bigger. Halos 'yung buong eyelid n'ya. It's a matte lipstick na fuchsia pink and I drew it all over the lid tapos I set it with eye shadow."

Lastly, Anthea commends Janine for being a real trooper.

"Janine is open to experimenting with her looks. It's not always the typical artista look we see on TV. So parang it's such a joy to work with people like that."
