Actress Andi Eigemann enlisted the help of her eldest daughter Ellie in creating an eco-friendly, do-it-yourself to for her youngest daughter Lilo.

Andi and Ellie used recycled materials such as cardboard and old cracker containers to make a kitchen set complete with a cooking range, sink and refrigerator.

Andi shared the experience of creating the toy set in a new vlog posted on their family's YouTube channel, Happy Islanders.

She was glad to be able to bond with Ellie through making the toy.

"It's a much cheaper way to come up toys to entertain your kids especially in this time. The process of doing it, the process of creating it is also fun in itself," Andi says in the beginning of the video.

The is also proud to have made use of materials that they would otherwise just throw away.

"The most important thing is we make use of items in the house that we don't need anymore, such as these cardboard boxes. Everything is recycled. It's much better and way more affordable. It's free!" she explains.

Andi then showed the process of creating the sink with cardboard, tape and mason jar covers. She also made a sink using more cardboard, a plastic container for crackers and a soap pump. Lastly, she created the refrigerator and decorated it with washi tape.

Through the toys, she hopes to be able to teach her kids about appreciating simple things in life.

"All of that hard work actually paid off because Ellie and Lilo have really been enjoying it. More importantly, it just goes to show that as much as I would love to shower kids with all of these really nice luxuries in life, they also will appreciate it just as much if its simple pleasures, simple joys such as this one," she shares.
