Assunta de Rossi shares the meaning of daughter's name

A day after giving birth to her baby daughter, actress Assunta de Rossi shares the meaning behind the three names of Baby Fiore.

Named Giulia Fiorentina Alessandra, Baby Fiore's name is based on the three people that matter the most to Assunta.

“Giulia, just like how you pronounce Julia [sorry, no letter J in the Italian alphabet] as a tribute to her paternal great-grandfather, Don Julio.

“Fiorentina as a tribute to her paternal great-grandmother, Doña Florentina, a.k.a. Lola Puring [Lola's name is the Spanish version].

“And Alessandra as a tribute to my sister and our Lola Alejandra, a.k.a. Inang. Plus, I like its meaning, defender or protector,” she explained on Instagram.

“So, there you have it! I hope she knows how much we wanted her. #miraclebaby”

Assunta de Rossi welcomed Baby Fiore on Friday, October 24, 2020.

Baby Fiore comes after 16 years of marriage with former Negros Occidental Congressman Jules Ledesma.

Assunta and Jules first announced their pregnancy on May 5, 2020, when Assunta was 14 weeks pregnant.

Assunta calls Baby Fiore her “miracle baby” because she has been suffering from endometriosis and myoma, making it difficult for her to conceive a child.
