Barbie Forteza says she felt 'helpless' during father's operation

During the online I Can See You: The Lookout press conference, Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza recalled one grueling time in her life where she felt helpless.

According to her, it was when his father, Antonio Forteza, underwent surgery.

Aside from the fact that the surgery happened amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it also happened when she was away from home.

At the time, Barbie was at the lock-in taping of the previous GMA Telebabad series Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday.

“'Yung tatay ko na never nagkasakit, kung kailan ako nag-lock-in taping, na hindi pwede bumiyahe umuwi, 'tsaka siya nangangailangan magpa-opera sa appendix,” Barbie told the press.

“'Di ako makapag-focus nang maayos…Napaka helpless ko. Wala ako magawa sa family ko,” she said.

Barbie added that her family has encountered a little difficulty in finding a hospital for his father.

Fortunately, her father was eventually admitted and treated.

Months after the surgery, the actress shared that her dad is doing better now.

Meanwhile, Barbie, along with Kapuso hunk Paul Salas and veteran actor Christopher de Leon, is set to star in the third episode of I Can See You Season 2 titled “The Lookout.”

It follows the story of a magician's all-around assistant named Emma, who agreed to be the lookout for her childhood who plans to rob one of the houses in the village near the slums where they live.

In an expected turn of events, they find themselves in a tricky situation when they find a dead housemaid in the house they have broken into. She was caught up in another dangerous home invasion.

Directed by Jules Katanyag and L.A. Madridejos, joining the cast of the compelling mini-series are Adrian Alandy, Arthur Solinap, Marina Benipayo, Elijah Alejo, Luis Hontiveros, Ella Cristofani, Jana Trias, with the special participation of Benjie Paras.

I Can See You: The Lookout premieres Monday, April 19, on GMA, GTV, and Heart of Asia.

Kapuso abroad may also watch the mini-series as it will also air overseas via GMA Pinoy TV.
