Prior to getting pregnant, Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado reveal undergoing fertility treatments and having a surrogacy plan.
Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo ang Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado finally confirmed that they are expecting their first child together, yesterday, October 29.
According to Jennylyn, she is already nine weeks pregnant and first realized it while at the lock-in taping of her upcoming show Love.Die.Repeat.
"Ito ay nangayari two months ago. Doon ko na feel na parang medyo iba ko, e. Medyo emosyonal ako, iba 'yung pakiramdam ko kasi lagi akong nag-a-acid reflux, naghe-headache ako, may nausea na.
"Parang doon ako napaisip na hala. Saka delayed ako for a week, kasi usually, nade-delay ako three days lang, four days. Hindi ako lumalagpas ng one week. Sabi ko kay Dennis, bumili siya, padalhan ako ng test, ng PT [pregnancy test]. Doon namin nalaman," Jennylyn shared.
But prior this this, the couple were already undergoing fertility treatments and even had plans to hire a surrogate.
In an interview with fashion ang lifestyle publication MEGA, Dennis and Jennylyn revealed traveling to the United States, even at the height of the pandemic, to see a fertility specialist and to hopefully draw up a contract with a surrogate.
"So, naka-harvest kami ng five eggs. Pero isa lang 'yung excellent egg so parang tapon din 'yung apat--isa lang talaga. Isa lang 'yung nabuo ko," Jennylyn tells the magazine.
"Pero embryo na 'yun. Embryo na siya kasi nag-[fertilize]," Dennis further explained.
They also met up to two people before deciding who to pick as their surrogate.
"Napili namin na perfect para doon sa embryo na 'yun. Pagkatapos naman, okay na lahat, Okay na. May schedule na ng implant. Nakilala na namin 'yung surrogate, mababait sila, tapos magpipirmahan na lang kami ng kontrata and ii-inject na lang 'yung embryo sa kanya ngayong October dapat," Dennis tells MEGA.
But it was around that time that they learned that Jennylyn was pregnant. The actress even had to leave the lock-in taping of Love.Die.Repeat due to complications of her pregnancy.
Now, Dennis and Jennylyn are engaged and even shared a few moments from the intimate proposal through a vlog.
