Gwendolyne Fourniol calls her mom “the most wonderful, incredible and strongest woman in the world.”
We've all got a soft spot for our mothers, and the reigning Miss World Philippines 2022 Gwendolyne Fourniol is no different as she greeted her mother a happy birthday.
In her Instagram post, Gwendolyne greeted her mother a happy birthday and posted nine pictures of her with her mother and her family in different stages of her life. In the caption, Gwendolyne thanked her mother for teaching her “the meaning of compassion” and “showing her the way” during times when she was uncertain.
She also expressed her gratitude for her mom's “enormous sacrifices and unconditional love,” saying that despite their “silly arguments and disagreements,” she would be incomplete without her mother.
Gwendolyne isn't the only beauty queen giving a shout out to her parents on social media. Over the past few weeks, other queens gave their parents a shout out on social media, especially with the recently concluded Father's Day.
Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi, for instance, took to Instagram to remember her father who passed, posting a photo of a black butterfly on her hand.
Former Miss Universe Catriona Gray, on the other hand, used Instagram to greet not just her “real-life superman” father, but also the “dads, father figures and fur-dads out there!”
Rabiya Mateo was one such beauty queen who greeted a father figure in her life. In her Father's Day post, it was her mother that Rabiya expressed her gratitude for, saying that she could only wish to have half of her mother's “wisdom, maturity, and mental prowess.” She also gave a shout out to all the other single mothers “who chose to nurture and provide for their family.”
The winners of the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant also collectively paid tribute to the mothers and parent figures in their lives back in May, sharing what is “uniquely beautiful” about them.
