Fashion spotlight: Netizens credit Ara Mina for backless dress trend

Beyonce and Kim Kardashian recently rocked backless dresses that exposed their thongs. But, did you know that actress Ara Mina wore something similar way back in 2002?

Beyonce recently made millions of jaws drop when the cover of British Vogue's December 2020 issue was unveiled.

In the said magazine cover, Beyonce donned a stunning coral backless Christopher John Rogers gown that showed her custom-made Agent Provocateur crystal thong.

On the other hand, reality star Kim Kardashian also wore something similar last month.

However, contrary to what many people think, this style or fashion trend has been around since the early 2000's.

Filipino netizens, including celebrity photographer BJ Pascual and makeup artist Paolo Maranan, pointed out that Filipino actress and Mano Po star Ara Mina rocked the same style way back in 2002.

In an Instagram post, Ara Mina thanked everyone who recalled her daring fashion moment in 2002.

She also shared some screenshots of posts from netizens with photos of her wearing the backless red gown.
