By Racquel Quieta

Michael Kors is celebrating its 40th anniversary this 2021, and its Fall/Winter collection show is a star-studded digital runway experience, which serves as the iconic fashion designer's love letter to New York City.

The almost 30-minute Broadway-themed show called "Michael Kors Lights Up Broadway" was divided into three parts.

In the first part, Michael Kors himself presents his Fall/Winter 2021 collection and discusses the great advocacy behind it.

Michael confessed his love for Broadway and acknowledged that the theater industry is one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

So, aside from paying tribute to New York City's theater industry through his show, Michael Kors also made a personal donation to the organization called Actors Fund, to show his support for those affected by the economic consequences.

Michael Kors, the fashion company, donated to the organization as well.

The second part features Broadway's biggest stars' framed video on the walls of the popular Manhattan restaurant, Sardi's, Michael's favorite pre-theater dining spot.

In a funny and informative conversation, the celebrities congratulated Michael Kors on his fashion empire's 40th anniversary and also encouraged people to make a donation to Actors Fund.

Some of these stars include Bette Midler, Rosario Dawson, Cynthia Nixon, Matt Bomer, Marisa Tomei, Sara Bareilles, Chita Rivera, Alan Cumming, Billy Porter and many more.

The third part is the actual runway show that was shot on West 45th Street, where some of the brightest supermodels from different generations paraded in Michael Kors's latest collection, while Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright performed timeless Broadway hits.

Some of the supermodels who walked the runway were Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham, Shalow Harlow, Alek Wek, Liya Kebede, Karen Elson, Paloma Elsesser and Precious Lee.

Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2021 collection consists of pieces that are perfect for stepping out for a fun night out in the city.

The collection has polished, glamorous pieces such as coats, trenches, trouser suits, and sequin gowns in neutral palette of black, white, ivory, smoke, charcoal, midnight and camel, with splashes of bold scarlet, metallic silver, shimmering gunmetal and the gleam of gold.

Also seen in the collection are sharp pinstripes, houndstooth and glen plaids, as well as bold zebra and graphic leopard.

Some noticeable styles and designs are head-to-toe monochromatic dressing, the tailored coat matched with leggy dress, cozy shearlings, leather trenches, booth-length skirts with leg-revealing slit, and the shrunken mini suit.
