Drake Dustin Ibay names celebrities who invest in millions worth of jewelry
Vlogger and actress Ivana Alawi recently made headlines after she shared the story behind her 12-million-peso diamond ring designed by Drake Dustin Ibay, founder of Lvna by Drake Dustin.
She said aside from being an investment piece, the ring also symbolizes her love for the woman she has become.
Aside from Ivana, Jinkee Pacquiao was also the talk of the town after it was revealed that her all-pink fight night OOTD costs around PhP 2 million.
Celebrities spoiling or rewarding themselves with luxury items using their hard-earned money isn't something new.
However, there are others who raise their eyebrows when it comes to this topic.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com, jewelry designer Drake Dustin Ibay gave his two cents on the issue.
“You know what, we've been fighting for freedom, to be honest. All of us. We're fighting for freedom of speech, etc.,” Drake told GMA Network. “Why don't we accept people na may freedom to spend na wala naman silang tinatapakan na tao? I mean, 'yung money naman nila, pinaghirapan nila.”
He also adds that some of the celebrities and personalities who buy luxury items also do philanthropic work, so they also share their blessings with others.
“For me, the mindset should change,” Drake emphasized. “We should be inspired rather than galit, jealous, or something. Parang let's just be happy for them, as long as walang tinatapakan na tao or anything.”
During the interview, we also asked Drake to spill on who are the other celebrities who bought millions worth of jewelries from him.
“Dati noong online pa lang ako, Mariel Rodriguez…she's been buying and buying,” Drake revealed. “Kami 'yung nagpupunta sa bahay niya para magdala ng jewelry. She loves jewelries.”

When asked how much Mariel has spent on jewelry, Drake didn't share the exact amount but the details made our jaws drop nonetheless.
“Si Mariel, millions…siguro mga more than 50 jewelry sets ang nabili niya. Mahilig siyang mag-collect talaga.”
He also named celebrity stylist Liz Uy as one of the personalities who have bought millions-worth of jewelry.
“Liz Uy knows jewelries so well, “ Drake said.
