Rabiya Mateo is the new face of local luxury jewelry brand
Miss Universe-Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo's star keeps on shining as she becomes the new face of local luxury jewelry brand LVNA by Drake Dustin.
It can be recalled that all the jewelry she wore during her bid for the Miss Universe crown, from her daily looks and up until the preliminaries and finals, were supplied by the said brand.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, jeweler Drake Dustin Ibay recounted the moment he met Rabiya in person.
He said they were tapped to create Rabiya's Miss Universe jewelry on short notice, and Rabiya had to leave for the U.S. in a matter of days. So, once they finished making the jewelry, Drake Dustin had to personally fly to the U.S. and hand them over to Rabiya.
The Filipino jeweler revealed that aside from Rabiya's beauty, what struck him most is her kindness.
“Hinatid ko sa kanya personally 'yung jewelry tapos siya 'yung nag-receive. Ayon, tuwang-tuwa siya.
He said although they had to talk with each other at a 2-meter distance, it was such a nice first meeting with the beauty queen.
“Super bait, that's why we also chose her as our endorser,” Drake Dustin added.

Moreover, he said that aside from Rabiya's beauty and kindness, her advocacy is also aligned with their brand's that's why they saw her as the perfect new endorser.
“Since LVNA started, we've been helping charities, especially during the pandemic.
“Medyo mataas sales namin kaya tumutulong talaga kami sa mga (less fortunate). Palagi kaming nagpapadala ng food.
“So, parang medyo match namin si Rabiya since meron siyang advocacy.
“So, we're planning to release a campaign, a collection that will give (parts of the) profit to charitable institutions.”
And today, October 27, Drake Dustin officially announced on social media that Rabiya is the new endorser of LVNA.
Rabiya joins Ivana Alawi as one of the celebrity endorsers of LVNA by Dustin Drake.
In a video shared on Instagram, Rabiya looked ravishing in a red gown while rocking some of the brand's pieces of jewelry, including a stunning pair of chandelier earrings.
The beauty queen expressed her gratitude to Drake Dustin in the said video and also talked about one of her favorite pieces.
“Well, I am forever thankful for the generosity of Sir Dustin for helping me with my jewelry pieces when I was in Miss Universe.
“Actually, what I love about his designs is that they were made intricately.
“And aside from that, I really love that double sun, which I wore during the preliminary (competition).
“It was very symbolic and at the same time, he would always consider who is Rabiya and how is it gonna reflect to the pieces he was making for me.
“It felt magical. I remember during the preliminary competition I was wearing a yellow gown and I was wearing that double sun.
“I felt like I was a princess and that was my moment. I feel like during the walk I was shining.”
Rabiya also talked about another memorable Drake Dustin creation that she wore during the Miss Universe pageant.
“Sir Drake made this brooch with “Pinay” on it and I wore that during my preliminary interview.
“It was sentimental because at the back of my suit was also printed like a logo (that says) “Pinay.”
“So, I was there and that is like my winning moment because it's not every year that I get to be Miss Philippines.”
