There are many ways or methods you can do to achieve your dream body.
'A big NO: Things people forget before heading to the gym
Some would suggest that taking workout supplements or dietary supplements can help you attain your goal a lot faster by boosting your performance while exercising.
There's no shortage of these products--from fat burners, whey protein, pre and post workout.
Supplements come in different forms, including powders, capsules, tablets, bars and drinks.
With so many choices in the market today, choosing the best product can be a little bit overwhelming. So we asked a fitness trainer and some celebrities to give us their recommendations and the things you have to consider before buying supplements.
Kapuso hottie Jak Roberto, who earned the moniker from his fans as "Pambansang Abs," tells GMANetwork.com that dietary supplements are effective in enhancing your performance during workout.
He said, "The fact na nagagawa mo todo yung workout mo, kumbaga tumatagal ka at least 3 hours so may place yung supplement sa katawan mo,"
But many of those we interviewed still believe that doing it the natural way without the need of taking these supplements, is the way to go.
Actor-dancer Rayver Cruz, a fitness buff, stressed that you just need a healthy lifestyle to attain the body you want.
He explained, "Basta maganda yung lifestyle mo and mahilig ka magpa-pawis and lagi kang maraming activities okey na yun. At least mae-enjoy mo (at) makakain ka pa ng masarap."
This was echoed by Protegé graduate Jeric Gonzales who believes that the natural way is the best option. Though he admits that he used fat burners before, he pointed out there is still no substitute for exercise and understanding how your body works--from what food will make you fat and what is the best way to lose the extra weight faster.
"Kasi doon mo makakabisado yung body mo, mas makikilala mo 'yung body mo kung kelan ka tataba, kelan ka papayat, kung anong pagkain."
But if you still feel that you need to take these supplements, fitness trainer Joshua dela Cruz ”Josh” Pineda cautioned that you should consult a doctor before getting one.
According to him, seeking a medical advice will ensure that whatever supplements you will be using will not harm your body.
"Kailangan magpa-checkup muna baka may medical condition ka, iche-check nila lahat yan. Kasi pag binira mo ng binira pag nagtake ka ng supplements hindi mo alam may sakit pala sa liver para safe di ba."
There is no harm if you take an extra precaution and research first before using any workout supplement.
Weigh your options and ask for advice from medical professionals or fitness trainers about the advantages and the disadvantages of taking these products.
Not only will the right information about workout supplements save you money, it will save your health, too.
