Fight no battle unprepared.

This is also true if you're heading to the gym for a good workout to pump those muscles and burn those unwanted fats. But what are the things you should bring before leaving the house?

Social media baes Tom Reuh Tacwigan, chef Gerick Manalo and model Jason Dy Tan listed down their must-have items in their gym bag that you should add to your list of gym essentials.

Towels and extra clothes

Let's face it. We need a good size towel whenever we are working out. It's a must! In fact, you should never head to the gym without one.

Especially if you're the type who sweats a lot, you will need an absorbent towel to wipe the sweat off your face and body. Buy a microfiber towel which is worth every peso because it absorbs more liquid than a regular cotton towel and it dries faster.

Make sure to bring also an extra pair of clothes, so you could change afterwards.

Workout gears

Hottie chef Gerick Manalo tells GMANetwork.com that gym-goers should invest in their gears they use for lifting weights, like gloves and supporters.

If you lift weights, you might develop calluses in your hands. Healthline.com said that calluses form due to repeated pressure on certain spots of your skin. Extra layers of skin grow over the affected area until a harder, raised bump appears.

Avoid developing calluses by wearing a good quality hand gloves.

Collapsible water bottle

Tom Reuh Tacwigan suggests for people to do away with plastic bottles or stainless steel water flask, because they are too bulky and add weight to your gym bag.

Why don't you purchase a collapsible water bottle that doesn't take up too much space?

Toiletries

After a great workout, you need to freshen up too. Don't forget to bring your "male kikay" kit that holds your favorite soap, body wash, shampoo, deodorant, perfume. You will need to bring these products with you so you would avoid smelling bad and feel energized after your workout.

Model Jason Dy Tan recommends bringing isoprophyl alcohol to kill off the germs that would latch onto your hands while using the gym equipment.

Whey protein

Of course your muscles would feel sore after lifting weights or doing an intense cardio exercise. So for a quick recovery, you need to drink your whey supplements.

Time to upgrade your gym essentials the next time you go shopping at the mall.
