Tone your arms and legs with Rocco Nacino's 15-minute BodyCombat workout

By Jansen Ramos

Rocco Nacino shared his secret to lose the arm and leg fat to his Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation) co-stars Jennylyn Mercado, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Neil Ryan Sese.

In a workout video posted on the official Facebook fan page of DOTS Ph, Rocco performed a 15-minute BodyCombat in which his fellow actors followed along.

Founded by New Zealand-based health, wellness, and fitness company Les Mills International, BodyCombat is a martial arts-inspired cardio workout which uses non-contact kicking, punching, blocking, and striking movements.

It aims to tone and shape the arms, back and shoulders, train the legs, and condition the core, supported by driving music and motivating instructor.

If BodyCombat is performed for 55 minutes, one can burn about 740 calories. In fact, core training in a one-hour BodyCombat session is equivalent to 1,700 crunches.

"Ang tagal na pala nating ginagawa 'yung jab at straight, nato-tone na pala 'yung arms natin," Rocco said after finishing the workout.

"Actually, halos araw-araw ko nga s'ya ginagawa. At least, kakaiba siya sa usual na ginagawa natin na martial arts training na boxing, muay thai, at least, ito may music.

"Saka maganda kapag marami kayo nakakagana talaga. Imagine ny'o in like 15 minutes, 20 minutes, pinawisan tayo ng matindi. That's good enough for the body to burn calories."

For best results, it is recommended to do BodyCombat two to three times a week.
