Sinampalukang Manok recipe by Chef Jose Sarasola

Sinampalukang manok is among the classic Pinoy soup dishes that Filipinos love to eat, especially on cold days during the rainy season.

So, now is the perfect time for you to serve a comforting, warm bowl of Sinampalukang Manok to your loved ones.

In a recent episode of Unang Hirit, Chef Jose shared his Sinampalukang Manok recipe.

Here are the ingredients you'll need:

  • Chicken
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Water
  • Sampalok (Tamarind)
  • Tamarind leaves
  • Siling haba (Finger Chili)
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Fish sauce

And, here are the seven simple steps to cooking your very own Sinampalukang Manok:

  1. Sear the chicken and set aside.
  2. Saute the garlic, onion, and garlic.
  3. Add the chicken and pour some water.
  4. Close the lid and let it boil for 15-20. minutes.
  5. Add the tamarind and tamarind leaves.
  6. Add pepper and salt.
  7. Add the fish sauce and finger chili and mix well.
