RECIPE: Ube Mango Sticky Rice

By Dianara Alegre

One of the staple treats at any Filipino holiday table is the well-loved native kakanin Ube Halaya.

Now take that and add Thailand's famous Mango Sticky Rice and you're definitely in for a major dessert experience.

Entrepreneur Hajjie Valencia came up with the idea of mixing the two favorites in one with their Ube Mango Sticky Rice.

On Unang Hirit, Hajjie shared what inspired her to produce such a mouthwatering delight.

“Last year kasi nu'ng anniversary namin, nag-travel kami sa Thailand. Natikman namin 'yung delicacy nila, 'yung famous dessert nila na mango sticky rice.

“And then nu'ng umuwi kami, sabi ko parang gusto ko i-try lutuin 'yun sa bahay namin pero but with a twist of Filipino. Since favorite ng parents ko 'yung Ube Halaya, nag-try ako i-mix siya then 'yun, nag-come up with this product,” she said.
