How to make Los Pollos Hermanos fried chicken from 'Breaking Bad'
Breaking Bad is an American crime drama series which aired from 2008 to 2013.
It tells the story of Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, an underpaid high school chemistry teacher who was diagnosed with stage-three lung cancer.
He partners with his former student Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, to make and sell crystal methamphetamine to secure his family's future before he dies.
The series was a hit with both audiences and critics.
It went on to have five seasons, a spin off, a feature film, a mobile game, and a Spanish-language remake.
Among Breaking Bad's numerous awards are 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Peabody Awards.
In the series, the characters often visit a fast food restaurant called Los Pollos Hermanos.
The chain restaurant serves fried chicken and other fast food items but is actually a front for the drug operations of Gus Fring, played by Giancarlo Esposito.
Andrew Rea of Binging With Babish shared a recipe for the fried chicken as seen in Los Pollos Hermanos from Breaking Bad.
Here's how to make it:
Ingredients
15 grams cayenne pepper
10 grams aleppo pepper
10 grams ground coriander
15 grams red pepper flakes, pulverized
15 grams kosher salt
chicken, cut into pieces
100 grams all-purpose flour
100 grams cornstarch
250 grams water
30 grams vodka
2 large eggs
frying oil
Procedure
1. Combine cayenne pepper, aleppo pepper, ground coriander, pulverized red pepper flakes, and kosher salt
2. Sprinkle spice mixture on both sides of the chicken pieces
3. Let the chicken rest in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours
4. Mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, a sprinkle of the spice mixture, water, vodka and eggs
5. Coat chicken pieces in flour before dunking in the batter
6. Deep fry in 375 degree Fahrenheit oil for 7 to 10 minutes until golden brown
7. Serve with curly fries
