
Filipino painter and national artist, Bencab or Bendecito Cabrera, is best known for his paintings and sculptures.
But what many do not know is that he also has impressive cooking skills.

During Pinas Sarap's Baguio City food trip, host Kara David had the privilege to meet Bencab himself and learn more about his artworks displayed in his 11-year-old namesake museum.
He toured Kara around the Bencab museum, which houses his finest masterpieces and also showcases some artworks of other Filipino artists.
But not only that, Bencab also showed his not-so-known culinary skills, as he taught Kara how to make Chicken Paprika.

According to Bencab, he learned the said recipe when he was still living in Paris.
If you want to recreate this recipe from national artist Bencab, below are the ingredients and procedure.
Ingredients:
olive oil
onions
chicken
tomatoes
paprika
tomato paste
red wine
pasta
basil (for garnishing)
onion leeks (for garnishing)
parmesan cheese (for garnishing)
Procedure:
1. Sauté the onions in olive oil.
2. Add the chicken.
3. Peel off the skin of tomatoes then slice them.
4. Add the tomatoes.
5. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Add tomato paste.
7. Add paprika.
8. Slow cook the chicken.
9. Add around four tablespoons of red wine.
10. Mix from time to time while slow cooking the chicken.
11. Serve with pasta and garnish with basil, onion leeks and parmesan cheese.
