By Angelo Garcia

A Filipino Noche Buena is not complete without the ubiquitous hamon--smoked or glazed, the sight of the cured pork on the dinner table puts everyone in a good holiday mood. But what changes every year is the food that served alongside it, from pancit to roast beef, the supporting main dishes make Christmas parties more festive and delicious.

In the second installment of GMA Lifestyle's Christmas Party Trays series, we list down some of the best entrees you can order this Christmas. From aligue crabs to a complete gourmet bundle, these party trays are sure to make every member of your family very happy.

Turf and surf by Slow Burn MNL

This home-based food delivery service is quite new and is the brainchild of brothers chef Chryso and Dale Morales. The shop offers only two trays: Turf and Surf (P1,499/whole tray and P899/half tray) and Surf and Surf (P1,599/whole tray and/P999 half tray).

The Turf and Surf is a tray of smoked ribs, garlic shrimps, French beans, and cherry tomatoes on a bed of truffled umami rice. On the other hand, the Surf and Surf is a tray of seared salmon fillet with the special Slow Burn Sauce, garlic shrimp, French beans, and cherry tomatoes on a bed of squid ink rice or truffled umami rice.

The trays also come with an option of no shrimps (for people who are allergic) and add-ons of salmon, ribs, shrimps, and truffled umami rice. Check out their Instagram, @slowburnmnl

Crab Gulong Gulong by Pepita's Kitchen

Pepita's Kitchen is known for its stuffed Lechon de Leche but the home-based business also offers other treats including the rich crab gulong gulong. It's a dish of huge crabs in a secret sauce that owner Dedet de la Fuente describes as “mapapagulong ka sa sarap,” hence the name.

Watch out, though, because the sauce contains aligue or crab fat, which is high in cholesterol. Check out @lechon_diva for details on how to order.

Angus beef belly by H Cuisine

H Cuisine is a Tomas Morato staple and its most famous dish is the Most Awesome Angus Beef Belly. The tender roast beef is served with a demiglace gravy, roasted marble potatoes, and mixed vegetables.

The restaurant offers a party tray good for eight to 10 persons priced at P2,500. They also offer a smaller sharing platter good for two to three people at P670 and a 1kg frozen tray with demiglace gravy for P2,000. Check out their Facebook page (@hcuisine) for delivery details.
