Tarta Quemada by Heny Sison Desserterie

Any creation by one of the country's best dessert makers deserves a place on the Christmas table. Heny Sison's Tarta Quemada is a beautiful cake that consists of three layers of sponge cake filled with Chantilly cream and topped with bruleed yema.

Ube Tres Leches by Arlene's Catering

This cake is a combination of the classic Mexican cake and a Filipino dessert ingredient. Tres leches is a moist sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk (condensed, evaporated, and heavy cream) while ube or purple yam is used in many Filipino desserts like halaya.

Arlene's Catering combines these two together, creating this beautiful purple cake. It's two layers of moist ube sponge cake filled with ube halaya and frosted with whipped cream with streaks of purple cream. The cake comes with tres leches mixture or soaking liquid you can pour over each slice.

Dayap Chiffon Cake by The Chocolate Kiss Cake Shop

Chocolate Kiss may have closed down its restaurant but it's still making cakes. One of its most popular cakes is the Dayap Chiffon Cake--layers of light dayap chiffon flavored with fresh dayap zest filled with caramel and frosted with marshmallow icing. It is topped with candied dayap rind.

Banana Pudding by M Bakery PH

Banana pudding is basically US's answer to Filipinos' mango float ref cake. It's alternating layers of vanilla wafers, banana slices, and vanilla pudding. It's creamy and fruity, just like the traditional Filipino dessert.

Basque Burnt Cheesecake by Chef Chele's Kitchen

Ever since Spanish chef Chele Gonzalez opened his restaurant in the country, he has been delivering delicious gourmet meals. The famous chef has likewise put up a cake shop called Chef Chele's Kitchen, selling one kind of cake: the Basque Burnt Cheesecake.

The cake originates from San Sebastian, Spain, and has recently become one of the food trends during the pandemic. This cake is available at Mercato Centrale in BGC from Tuesday to Sunday. You can also order from chef Chele's shop, check out their Instagram (@chefcheleskitchen) for details.

Triple Nut Sans Rival by Cipriano Sans Rival

Cipriano's Sans Rival makes one of the metro's best sans rival cakes. This Filipino dessert is made with layers of chewy meringue, French buttercream, and crushed nuts. The classic uses peanuts while cashew and pistachios are also used in this dessert.

These chocolate bonbons look more like art than edible treats. This box of handcrafted chocolate treats by KO Pâtissier is a mix of traditional and unique flavors. There are familiar flavors like mango, hazelnut, earl grey, and pistachio. But the box also contains flavors Filipinos love like leche flan, halo-halo, and buko pie.

If you're looking for a different kind of cheesecake, this Manchego Cheesecake will surely deliver. It's made with Manchego cheese, house-made graham crackers, and topped with a berry compote and membrillo jelly.
