On Instagram, the actress shared a bare-faced selfie while lying down in her hospital bed at the Makati Medical Center.

"Reminiscent of the '80s, including my hairstyle, when I've been confined last if I recall correctly.

"Nonetheless, I enjoyed my stay knowing I was in great hands and was super taken care of.

“I am now rebooted and given a clean bill of health along with a new pair of knees ready to face the next marathon of this new chapter of my life. THANK YOU ALL #onward," she writes.

Fellow StarStruck council member Heart Evangelista, daughter Bianca Rogoff, and former sister-in-law Gina Alajar shared their happiness to see Cherie back in full force.

According to the Penn Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, a meniscus tear happens when the force and degree of twisting can tear some wedge-shaped cartilage that provides cushioning between the thigh bones and the shin bones.

It is common among athletes and if left untreated may need surgery to restore full knee function.
