The Department of Health shares helpful information to Filipinos, especially the vulnerable ones like young people, senior citizens, and pregnant women, on how to safeguard their health amid the COVID-19 crisis in the country.

Youth

DOH advises young people to take care of their health and strengthen their body's resistance in order to prevent coronavirus infection.

10 tips for students on how to be productive during the COVID-19 community quarantine

  • Eat vegetables, fruits, and fish.
  • Drink eight to ten glasses of water every day.
  • Do home exercises.
  • Don't drink alcoholic beverages, smoke cigarettes, and have sex.
  • Sleep eight to ten hours every night.

Senior Citizens

DOH has similar advise to senior citizens. However, it strictly recommends seniors to refrainn from going outside if not necessary.

  • Eat vegetables, fruits, and fish.
  • Drink eight to ten glasses of water every day.
  • Do home exercises.
  • Stay under the sun for ten minutes.
  • Sleep six to eight hours every night.

Pregnant Women

DOH reminds pregnant women to continue pre-natal checkups according to schedule amid COVID-19 crisis.

Maintain the cleanliness of your surroundings and disinfect if necessary.
Make it a habit to wash your hands properly.
Maintain one meter distance from other people.
Do not mingle with sick people.
If you are experiencing labor pains, head to the nearest birthing center right away.
