Andi Eigenmann shows post-baby body; talks about bouncing back after childbirth

By Racquel Quieta

Celebrity mom of three Andi Eigenmann has never been afraid to show her natural beauty on Instagram. If you follow her, you'll know that most of her photos are makeup-free and filter-free. And the same goes when it comes to her post-baby body.

In one of her latest Instagram posts, Andi shared a couple of photos of her body at two weeks after giving birth.

Part of her caption reads: “My only solo pic/s as of late. Taken at 2 weeks postpartum. Still looked exactly like I did 1 day pp, and still do up until today at 1 month pp.”

This seems to be Andi's way of helping other moms out there realize that it's completely okay to not lose the baby weight right away after pregnancy, and they shouldn't pressure themselves into getting back to their pre-pregnancy body.

The actress and mom of Ellie, Lilo, and Koa also said that although she's been enjoying every single moment of motherhood, she recently had a great realization about herself.

Andi narrated, “As I've mentioned in every other pic I've posted of the kids, I've been enjoying every moment of my time with them, because it recently sunk into me how fast our children grow.

“While that is very true, I also may have been spending all my time with them to avoid facing the fact that I haven't been feeling like myself lately.”

She then explained further, “I've been too unmotivated to keep up with my old (good) habits. And mind you, albeit having 3 kids, I know I do have the time. Because we're allowed to take some time to focus on ourselves too.”

“Now as a result, in some way, I also know how it could (or does) affect my kids.”

Andi also emphasized that bouncing back after childbirth isn't just about getting your slim pre-pregnancy body back, but also about your emotional and mental state, and how it affects your parenting.

“Now this is def not about bouncing back or wanting to look the way I did pre-pregnancy (although there should be nothing wrong with wanting that for your own body too cus it's your body and you can do whatever makes you feel good about it).

“This is about feeling the way I used to. I've found that a great way to parent (IMO) is to strive to become a version of yourself that you love and makes you happy so that you can be a great example to your children too.”

For sure, many moms could relate to Andi's sentiments about taking care and loving yourself after childbirth.

It should never be about how fast you get back in shape or if you could get back to your old waistline, it should, more importantly, be about being feeling good about yourself, not just physically, but also in your heart and mind.
