Instagram's 'Stay Home' sticker encourages social connection amid coronavirus crisis

Photo sharing app Instagram launched a new “Stay Home” sticker to encourage social connection as the world is currently advised to practice physical distancing due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The sticker will add your IG story to a compilation of stories that lets other people see “how you're staying home and staying safe.”

Furthermore, “any accounts you follow who use the sticker will be added to a shared Instagram story, allowing you to see how others are practicing [physical] social distancing at this time.”

Even in your Instagram Feed, you can see the new Stay Home icon in the stories section.

According to the platform's blog post, “We're also launching new stickers to help people share accurate COVID-19 information in Stories.

“These new features include reminders to wash your hands, distance yourself from others and more.

“These will be available in the camera in the coming days.”
