Filipino veterinarians offer free online consultation for pets amid the enhanced community quarantine

By Racquel Quieta

Last March 16, the whole Luzon was put under enhanced community quarantine due to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic. Because of this, most people's daily routines have been disrupted and it's been quite challenging to do simple tasks since many establishments have temporarily closed and public utility vehicles are not allowed to operate.

So, if you're a pet owner who has a fur baby that needs medical attention, but you can't physically go to a vet clinic for a check-up; you have an option to consult a veterinarian for free online through the Consult A Vet Facebook group.

Filipino veterinarians Doc Jose Mari Castro and Doc Gen Maala Castro spearheaded Consult A Vet back on November 26, 2015. And now that the world is going through a health crisis because of COVID-19, they're offering free online consultation as their way of helping out fur parents and fur babies during this challenging time.

Several Filipino veterinarians from different parts of the world have united to take part in this initiative. They will go online to answer questions from fur parents.
