Marvin Agustin shares what he learned from his 'home farm'

By Marah Ruiz

Actor Marvin Agustin proudly shared the progress of the 'home farm' which he recently set up in his home.

In a video he posted on Instagram, Marvin showed that a few of the vegetables he planted have already started bearing produce.

However, the vegetables attracted wasps to his garden.

"Para silang mga bubuyog. Iniiwanan nila 'yung mga anak nila tapos naging parang cocoon sila. Kinakain nila 'yung bunga," he explained.

To protect his produce, he started wrapping the vegetables with plastic while still on the vine.

"Hindi pa 'yan binibili. Akala niyo binili kaya naka plastic," he jokes.

"No, we're actually protecting them from mga peste. Kasi marami na kaming mga na-discover na peste. 'Yan pala talaga ang buhay farmer. Kailangan mong alagaaan 'yung mga bunga," he muses.

Marvin also made an all-natural pesticide which he sprays over the vegetables.

"Para rin 'to sa mga peste. Na-research natin online. Wala siyang chemical. Ito ay sili, garlic, tubig. We're experimenting now with our garden here and home farm para pang spray at ma-protect lalo ang ating mga 'babies' dito," he shares.

He grows garden has tomatoes, okra, ampalaya ang a few other greens in his garden and encourages people to do the same.

"Magtanim na kayo sa bahay. Ang laking tipid. Medyo matrabaho sa simula pero good," he says at the end of the video.
