By Racquel Quieta

A new and exciting destination awaits Lego fans all over the world once the pandemic is over, as the Legoland New York Resort opens its gates to the public later this year.

No official date has been announced yet, but reports say the new theme park will open this 2021.

The 150-acre Legoland New York (NY) is located in the town of Goshen, an hour and a half away from New York City.

It is the first major theme park to open in the Northeast after more than four decades and is also the largest Legoland Park so far by Merlin Entertainment.

Legoland NY is the ninth Legoland in the world and the third in the United States, with the other two parks located in California and Florida.

The theme park will be home to seven themed lands, namely: Bricktopia, Brick Street, Lego Ninjago World, Lego Castle, Lego City, Lego Pirates, and Miniland.

Aside from the stunning and exciting rides and attractions, there's also a 250-room hotel inside the Legoland NY Resort where guests can stay.

Here's a rundown of some of the rides and attractions at Legoland New York:

Miniland
The Miniland is basically a whole country built out of more or less 22,231,368 Lego bricks. It showcases ten destinations with Instagram-worthy scenery and city skylines.

Brick Street
Ride a one-of-a-kind carousel called Brick Party at Brick Street. Instead of horses, you'll hop on a motorcycle, a tiger and even a giraffe all made with Lego bricks.

Bricktopia
This themed land lets you enjoy the fun of building with Lego bricks. The Legoland NY exclusive ride called Lego Factory Adventure Ride gives you a brick's eye view of how Lego bricks are created, while the Robotic Play Center lets you build a robot that obeys your commands.

Lego Ninjago World
This is the perfect place for aspiring ninjas to train (Ninja Training Camp) and fight the Great Devourer at the Lego Ninjago: The Ride.

Lego Pirates
Experience the pirate life with fun rides for the whole family such as the Anchors Away, Rogue Riders and Splash Battle at the Lego Pirates-themed land.

Lego City
Ever wondered what it's like to live in a world made of Lego bricks? The Lego City-themed land lets you experience just that. Let your children aged 3 to 5 earn their very own Legoland Driving License at the Junior Driving School or see the biggest Minifigure stars in the latest blockbuster in 4D at the Palace Cinema.

Lego Castle
This themed land is dedicated to pure family fun. It has activities like the Tower Climb Tournament and roller coaster rides The Dragon (for 4-year-olds and above) and The Dragon's Apprentice (for 3 to 5-year-olds)

Bet all these exciting rides and attractions make you want to hop on the next plane to New York with the whole family.

But, before you book a flight or book your day tour or stay at Legoland New York, be sure to check travel restrictions in the United States and your country of origin, to make sure you're allowed to enter the country.
