Heart Evangelista, to drop her first-ever NFTs soon

By Racquel Quieta

Multi-hyphenate Heart Evangelista has announced on social media that she will soon drop her first-ever non-fungible tokens or NFTs.

The I Left My Heart in Sorsogon star shared the good news in her latest Instagram post and also talked about what she's learned so far about the new fad when it comes to selling artworks and other precious collectibles.

“I spent the last few months studying the exciting world of NFTs! It's a new kind of digital art that is secured by blockchain technology and can take many digital forms including art, videos, and music,” Heart wrote in her IG post. “Basically, anything that can be stored digitally can be made into an NFT!”

In Heart's case, since she is a known celebrity artist, her NFTs will mainly include some of her paintings that will be turned into a digital file or format.

Her artworks-turned-NFTs will then have security features in it so that the lucky person who'll purchase it will be able to easily prove ownership of it.

“These are really cool because they let a buyer prove that they are the true owner of a piece of art even if the art can be freely viewed by the public online. It's such an interesting combination of art and technology that lets artists express themselves in a whole new way!”

She then made the formal announcement about her first-ever NFTs and revealed that she's worked with some of the best Filipino artists.

“I am so thrilled to announce that I've created my very first NFTs using some of my favorite pieces! For the last few months, I've been collaborating with Luis Bueneventura @cryptopop, one of the first and most talented Filipino NFT artists, and Rodel Colmenar, composer of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra.”

Heart then disclosed when her NFTs will be available at OpenSea, an online marketplace for NFTs.

“It's such a thrill to work with these talented artists to bring these NFT pieces to life and I'm so excited to share them with you on @opensea starting on November 4. Will be posting more information on how you can own one of these NFTs that are so special to me very soon! 🙂 #NFT”

Heart first teased about venturing into NFTs in her interview in Karen Davila's vlog, where she revealed that one of her masterpieces could sell for up to P150 million.

Aside from Heart, eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao had also released his first-ever NFT collection back in August, just before his fight versus Yordenis Ugas.
