Fabio Ide 'back in business' after re-opening his restaurant in Siargao

By Kristian Eric Javier

Fabio Ide is happy to announce that his restaurant is finally “back in business” after a long hiatus.

In an Instagram post on January 11, the Brazilian-Japanese model and actor posted a picture of himself sitting on the bar counter showing off the name Zicatela. Fabio's Mexican restaurant in Siargao temporarily closed after facing challenges during the pandemic and when the island was badly hit by super typhoon Odette.

Included in the post are pictures of the exterior and interior of the place, the menu, and a few pictures of the mouth-watering food they serve.

“After surviving a pandemic and a super typhoon that hit us pretty hard two years ago we can now finally say that we are officially open and back in business stronger than ever,” the actor captioned his post.

The former Magkaagaw star also called on visitors to swing by his restaurant, which offers a new menu and new vibes.

In 2021, Super Typhoon Odette devastated the island, leaving buildings damaged or demolished, and many people left uprooted from their homes.

Several Kapuso celebrities, such as Faith Da Silva called on everyone and asked to help the island and its residents through donations.

“Humihingi rin po ako ng tulong sa mga tao kung pwede po natin suportahan 'yung mga donations, suportahan po natin sa mga nakilala ko po talaga na lokal doon sa Siargao, naubos po talaga lahat,” she said.

Meanwhile, former beauty queen Katarina Rodriguez also shared her fondest memories of when she lived on the island, expressing how hurt she was “when you lose a place.”

“It hits harder when it hits home,” she added.

Additionally, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that started in early 2020, many businesses had to pause operations and some had to close down due to the lack of tourists and visitors in the island.
