Pauline Amelinckx participates in fun run for education

By Ron Lim

The country's Miss Supranational representative Pauline Amelinckx is back to pursuing her advocacies even as she prepares for the upcoming international pageant.

In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Pauline put up several photos of her at the Manila Jaycees-hosted color run for education. In the caption to the post, Pauline shared that it was “beautiful and heartwarming” to see the “simple, collective efforts” of people making a difference. She also wrote that she felt fulfilled being part of “something bigger.”

This isn't the first time that Pauline has actively participated in advocacy work. Back in May last year, then Miss Universe Philippines Charity Pauline was at the launch of the Healthy Plate Origami campaign of the organization Save the Children.

Pauline has also been very outspoken about her stance on body image. Just last week, Pauline shared her thoughts about her performance in the swimsuit competition, writing that she had “learned to love” it as she has grown to love her body as well. Pauline then went on to say that self-love is “not an end-goal but a life journey with its own ups and downs.”

Even back in February, Pauline shared her experience being body-shamed online, writing that getting through it was a tough experience and affected her mental health and body image. It affected her so much that she would avoid her Instagram's comment section.

Eventually, Pauline would come to terms with this, writing that she “now actively try to accept the fact that everyone will have their opinion” but that her mindset and self-worth has to be stronger than those opinions.

The strength of Pauline's mindset can definitely be seen in how well she performed in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. Even before she became the country's Miss Supranational representative, she was one of the top five of the Swimsuit Challenge alongside eventual second runner-up Angelique Manto. Pauline was also one of the top five of the Runway Challenge alongside eventual Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee.
