Miss Universe Philippines announces Top 5 of Swimsuit Challenge

The May 13 coronation night for this year's Miss Universe Philippines crown is drawing closer and closer, and now the battle for the crown is getting tighter and tighter as the Miss Universe Philippines organization has just announced the top five for the pageant's swimsuit challenge.

In the most recent post on their Instagram account, the Miss Universe Philippines organization named Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, Miss Capiz Shayne Glenmae Maquiran, and Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto as the top five of the pageant's Swimsuit Challenge. The announcement comes after a weeklong extension was announced Monday last week.

Three of the Swimsuit Challenge top five were also part of the Photoshoot Challenge top five announced earlier. Miss Agusan del Norte Jannarie Zarzoso, Miss Bulacan Princess Anne Marcos, and Miss Pampanga Angelique Manto were named part of the Photoshoot Challenge top five alongside Miss Eastern Samar Airissh Ramos and Miss Quezon Province Lesly Sim.

The three queens now look to be frontrunners of the competition, as participants who do well in the challenges often perform well on the coronation night. Last year's pageant saw eventual Miss Universe Philippines Tourism Michelle Dee place in the Top 3 of the 2022 Swimsuit Challenge alongside eventual winner Celeste Cortesi. She also made it to the Top 3 of the Casting Video Challenge and also won six special awards - Miss Kumuniverse, Miss Creamsilk, Face of Essentials by Belo, Miss Jojo Bragais, Miss Savepoint, and Miss The Medical City.

The final hurdle for the queens before the coronation is the Runway Challenge, whose voting period is now ongoing.
