Catriona Gray is one of the hosts for this year's Miss Universe
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is coming back to the Miss Universe pageant - but not to compete. The beauty queen is headed to El Salvador to serve as a backstage correspondent during the upcoming November 18 (El Salvador time) coronation night.
In a post on her official Instagram account, Catriona posted a graphic announcing that she is this year's Miss Universe backstage correspondent.
As Catriona notes in the caption to the post, this is her second time as a backstage correspondent for the Miss Universe pageant, as she also held the position last year alongside American Ninja Warrior co-host Zuri Hall.
Last year's backstage hosting assignment in New Orleans was particularly memorable for Catriona, who described it as an “achievement unlocked” on her Instagram account. In the caption to the post, Catriona revealed that it was something that she had always been dreaming off.
Aside from thanking the Miss Universe organization, Catriona also thanked her styling team, who she revealed came up with her outfits for the pageant without having fittings with her, as she was only in Manila “for a few hours to pack.”
As one of the pageant's backstage hosts, Catriona will have an intimate view of the country's representative, Michelle Dee, as she works to bring home the country's fifth Miss Universe crown.
Michelle, who was recently seen having fun with her fellow contestants during the Miss Universe sash ceremony, has previously shared that she is ready to give “200 percent” to win the crown.
“I'm giving it everything that I have, 200 percent of myself I am dedicating to my crown. Nililigawan ko talaga 'yung pang-limang korona,” she shared in an interview during a contract renewal with the Autism Society Philippines. “I'm really training everyday when my schedule permits. I've been working on different aspects of my campaign just to make sure that when I fly to El Salvador, 100 percent ready.”
