Kristel Fulgar surprised her followers when she revealed her Korean suitor on her YouTube vlog last February 9.
After seeing their sweet moments together, fans of the actress-vlogger started wondering how the two met and how her suitor began courting her.
In an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com, Kristel revealed how their paths crossed and the courtship began.
She said it all started with their common friend (also a Filipino) who knows both of their personalities and interests. Thinking that their similarities could spark a possible relationship, Kristel's friend played the part of being a matchmaker for the two.
"So, alam niya naman na single ako. 'Tapos, kilala din niya ang personality ko, so sabi niya, 'Baka magustuhan mo itong guy na ito kasi halos same kayo ng personality.' And parang alam niya seryoso [na] 'pag nakipag relationship yung guy, seryoso siya, kasi alam niya hindi ako lolokohin or what," Kristel said.
After their first meeting, the Korean guy asked Kristel to meet again for a friendly date, which became a regular thing as they discovered the undeniable chemistry between them.
"Nag-aya siya ng second [time] ng kami lang tapos ang dami na namin na share sa isa't isa As in super click kami kaagad. Sabi ko nga, ' Totoo pala yung, ano, destiny'," Kristel said.
The 29-year-old artist also described their meeting was perfect timing, "Parang super saktong-sakto lang din talaga yung pagdating niya sa buhay ko like, hindi siya dumating habang kunwari nag-aaral ako, [o] habang super busy ako sa work. Parang kung kelan sabi ko sarili ko na, 'Ay ready na ako,' doon siya dumating."
The celebrity vlogger is set to return to Korea by the end of March. She mentioned that her plans include going on a trip with her suitor to Jeju island.
Kristel also wishes to bring her suitor to the Philippines sometime in the future. Although, she said, that he had already visited for a short time, but only to check in on her.
"Actually, nagpunta na siya. Kasi nagka long holiday sa Korea tapos tinake ko na opportunity na iyon para magholiday na dito [in the Philippines]. Pero sobrang short lang iyon. Gusto lang din niya talaga na ma-check up ako na parang kamusta.'"
