Former Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez continues to be involved with the Philippine military as she takes part in a speaking engagement for one of its branches.
In one of the more recent posts on her Instagram account, Beatrice uploaded a Reel of her speaking at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Reservists National Convention and the 1st RRAPI General Assembly. In the caption to the post, Beatrice said she shared “stories and camaraderie” with fellow reservists and that she was “truly honored” to be part of the event.
This isn't the first time that Beatrice has worked with the Philippine military. Back in 2022, she was at the Philippine Navy's NAVSTRAP 3 Strategy Execution. In the caption, Beatrice shared that it was an “honor and a privilege” to speak in front of “highly respected leaders of the Philippine Navy, private sectors, and non-profit organizations.” She also said that she was grateful for the opportunity to learn “new ways to be a great strategist.”
Speaking in front of the Philippine Navy is just the latest instance of Beatrice working with the military. Aside from being a sergeant in the Philippine Navy Reserve Unit, she was also awarded the Military Merit Medal back in May. She was also named an Honorary Member of Friends of Marines.
The Military Merit Medal is awarded "...for heroic achievement in combat or meritorious achievement for service not involving participation in combat, in connection with military operations against an enemy of the Philippines; for a single act of meritorious service either in a duty responsibility or in direct support of military operations."
Beatrice has also collaborated with the Philippine military when it comes to relief and rescue operations, such as during the aftermath of Typhoon Odette.
