Four months into 2024, the K-pop, K-drama, and K-sports world are already on a rollercoaster ride as several dating news flood the industry. While fans have supported these couples, others find the abundance of dating news bizarre as relationships and dating are unusual and sometimes frowned upon.
Some were confirmed after Korean news outlets shared their exclusive reports, while a few were left unconfirmed as the artists' dating and relationships are private matters.
Nonetheless, fans continue to root for the artists in line with the plea of agencies to support these couples with warmth.

2024 was welcomed with the dating news of former APRIL member Yang Yena and South Korean football player Seol Young-woo, which was immediately denied by Yena's agency last January 4. They said, “It's difficult to confirm the rumors as it's her personal life. We ask you to understand."
After her breakup with long-time boyfriend Dawn, K-pop soloist HyunA confirmed last January that she is dating former HIGHLIGHT member Yong Jun-hyung. They first sparked dating news after they posted their photos on their respective Instagram accounts.
Last February, it was confirmed that romance sparked between aespa's leader Karina and Korean actor Lee Jae-wook after they met at the Milan Fashion Week in January. The girl group member even penned an apology letter to fans about the dating news.
Karina and Jae-wook's five-week relationship ended last April 2 to focus on their personal endeavors.
'Nevertheless' star Han So-hee and 'Reply 1988' lead Ryu Jun-yeol was first caught up in dating rumors when So-hee attended Jun-yeol's art exhibition in November of 2023. In March, several Korean news sites reported that the actors went on vacation in Hawaii, which fueled speculations about the two.
After their alleged Hawaii trip, Jun-yeol's ex-girlfriend of seven years, Hyeri, and So-hee exchanged indirect Instagram posts where they threw shade at each other. This pushed So-hee to confirm her relationship on March 16 with Jun-yeol and apologize as well for the Instagram incident with Hyeri.
On March 30, two weeks after they went public, their agencies confirmed that the two actors had broken up.
Last March, dating news about TWICE's Jihyo and Olympic gold medalist Yun Sung-bin surfaced on the internet but was immediately squashed by their agencies. They said, “It is difficult to confirm the report as it is a private matter. We ask for your understanding.”
The second member of TWICE to be caught up in dating news this 2024 is their rapper Chaeyoung with soloist Zion. T. Reports about the two surfaced at midnight of April 5 and were confirmed on the morning of the same day by their agencies, saying they were meeting each other with “good feelings.”
Last April 18, Mijoo's agency confirmed the dating rumors after she was seen in the same location with Song Bum-keun in Japan. They said, “They are carefully getting to know each other with mutual affection. Please look upon them with warmth.”
After news about her connection with Black Eyed Pilseung producer Rado surfaced last April 23, Apink member Yoon Bomi confirmed their relationship through a heartfelt letter on Apink's fan cafe. She also addressed their dating life and apologized to fans about the news.
